Every 4th weekend of March marks the annual Assemblies of God Youth Convention. I have had the pleasure of attending and participating in this monumental event for the past 10 years! I have incredibly fond memories of Youth Convention and came back to help chaperon even after I graduated from High School. I remember all of the Fine Arts events I was involved in and was in awe of those that won the Memorization Award for Bible Quiz.

This year, I had the pleasure of tracking down all my quizzers who participated in Fine Arts and bounced around from room to room during the day to see them. They were incredible! I was in awe of their ability to act on stage, preach, dance, sing and play music! God has really blessed each and every one of them with not only an ability to memorize the Word, but to be disciples and use their talents to minister to others.

Isn’t that what Bible Quiz and Fine Arts is all about?

I did have a bit of fun when I arrived. In the slideshow, you’ll see JJ, the main speaker, and myself holding up our lanyards. Because I didn’t have a lanyard during the day, JJ let me borrow his. It was fun to see the look on people’s faces when I introduced myself as JJ. They thought I mugged him or something and took his lanyard. Haha (thanks again JJ!).

As the NYDBQC, I love to support our youth in their many talents. We have incredible singers, dancers, musicians, rappers, artists, photographers, actors, videographers, worship leaders, poets… The list goes on and on! Our Bible Quizzers not only manage their time to do well in school, but find time to study the Word, practice their talents, play sports and volunteer! This practice of time management helped me navigate college fairly easily.

I hope you enjoy the slideshow and strongly encourage you to consider starting up a BQ ministry in your church. The benefits and fruit sowed are astounding. BQ really helps set a solid foundation for our faith in our youth. I owe my life to quizzing. I hope you can give it a try too!
